Appeals are special abilities activated during gameplay. These abilities range from useful effects for the user to distractions for the opponent to various distractions. Appeals require a certain number of chain links and a certain amount of the success gauge that varies from appeal to appeal. When ready to perform, the user's appeal image in the top corner lights up and a shadowed aura appears around the player's avatar on the dance field. Remember some appeals need an opponent to be used upon. To activate the appeal when the conditions have been met, simply press the confirmation button and the appeal will activate.
Dance Genes - For the next displayed number of steps, the user will receive 'Exact' ratings.
Golden Prophecy - Based on the difference of user's current gauge rating at time of activation and the user's current gauge rating at the end of the prophecy invertly affects the opponent's gauge by a multiplier.
Terroar - For the next set number of seconds, the opponent will be unable to activate his/her avatar ability.
Infiltrating Claws - Large claws slash through the screen and obscure players' vision of the patterns.
Tongue Tickle - Slip's tongue enters from the side of the screen and tickle's the opponent's face and then slides off.
Soothing Mind - User's success gauge slowly increases for a few seconds.
Sturdy Grip - User does not lose holds for a set number of holds.
Yoink! - User steals the opponent's combo bonuses for several seconds (the opponent still receives base points for their success ratings).
Scoring Shuffler - The digits in the user's score and opponent's score are shuffled.
Impending Script - Based on the difference of user's current score (after cost should it have one) at time of activation and the user's current score at the end of the shuffle invertly affects the opponent's gauge by a multiplier.
Kaleidoscope - For the next couple seconds, steps that are created are constantly rotating while changing colors sporatically while multiplying score and gauge boosts
Camouflage - Symbols begin invisible and gain opacity as they approach the target symbols.
Center of Attention - For the next several measures, the opponent does not receive any steps to play.
Eyes of a Star - Displays both the user's and the opponent's current star rating.
Hallway - For next few beat divisions, the steps appear small and grow to regular size as approaching the target symbols.
Feint Paws - For the next few beat divisions, steps that are missed are treated as adequate rating.
Deleterious Slash - A large slash cuts through the screen while both players lose X% of their score and XX% of their success gauge.
Blind Samurai - For the next set number of seconds, both players' target symbols are removed and receive both a score & gauge multiplier.
Power Drain - Uses the opponent's defensive ability (if opponent is Stratum, randomly selects a defensive ability, including locked characters).
Power Surge - Uses the opponent's offensive ability (if opponent is Stratum, randomly selects an offensive ability, including locked characters).
