  • ‘Zieque displays his full set of outfits for the title screen display when he shows up instead of only his default outfit.

General gameplay updates

  • Camera system better explores the full reign of the stage space.
  • Camera plans and anticipates where characters are heading to better prepare for their interactions (fast characters can still outrun it)
  • Optimized more file loading to further reduce gameplay loading and memory overhead during gameplay

Bug Updates

  • Judge is now moving faster to better respond to combat.
  • Judge no longer leaves the top floor of the battlefield version of Miroi’s Castle.  

Balancing Updates

  • The rats in between floors in the battlefield version of Miroi’s Castle were stuck and could not move.  This has been updated and are moving freely again.

Single Player mode updates

  • If a player plays through the arcade mode with their shadow outfit, the enemy in the next to final round will no longer have the same outfit as the player.
  • For both arcade mode and survival mode, the pre-battle dialogue has new dialogue for facing the final opponent in the run.
  • New face portraits for Neon and ‘Zieque for the arcade and boss rush dialogue scenes.

  • Screenshake is now available from the impact of a fighter hit by an attack

Bug Updates

  • Shuffling Hat creates a bug for battles where a fighter has run out of lives and been eliminated.  This bug has been fixed.
  • Story mode screen shake options did not match their values.  This has been adjusted to match their correctly intended values.  

Balancing Updates

  • Mr. Bishounen’s Bishounen Kick now has slightly reduced startup frames
  • Otagaz’s Specks of the Dancing Flame elemental drain when guarded uses the correct intended value

Single Player mode updates

  • Ailments are displayed during the battle preview for battles that enforce a status condition
  • Screen flashing now can occur through story events during the arcade cutscenes

  • Added a new setting to the options settings to weaken or turn off the cutscene screen shake

General gameplay updates

  • Random option for stage selection during freeplay battles has an updated text display to apply a more appropriate effect.
  • Kaizen’s dash now has her leaping off of walls.  This bounce can be adjusted based on player’s directional movement.
  • Fighters now react to stepping on Crispy B.’s Piggly Mines by seeing a death vision right before the mine explodes.

Bug Updates

  • Stage Selection for freeplay battles now properly reads from previous gameplay session and the cursor begins at the previously selected stage.
  • Nekuen’s Deluge is kept from growing too large when bouncing off of a wall
  • Selphieroth’s Kyoukotsu no longer drops foes in the middle of holding before bouncing off of the ground.  

Balancing Updates

  • Crispy B.’s Bunny Goes Boom attack has longer start up frames to the attack
  • Nekuen’s Deluge has a limit on how far up a surface they are able to climb.

Single Player mode updates

  • Added screen shake to the boulder crashing into the scene for the opening arcade scene

General updates

  • Trap doors in the battlefield version of Mr. Bishounen’s Colosseum have been updated to become more visible even while closed.

General gameplay updates

  • Murex Ferreus has had hit stop frames removed and reduced armor damage so that they are not as debilitating and interrupting on the flow of battle.
  • Judge’s movement has been updated for behavior that occurs while the trap door on the battlefield version of Mr. Bishounen’s Colosseum has been updated to work correctly with the gameplay needs.
  • GUI outlining the fighter’s energy gauge has been updated to be easier to read at a glance.

Bug Updates

  • Unleashed bosses would lock up while performing their dire straight attacks when hit with multiple attacks while transitioning to dire straight state.  This has been fixed and updated so that they more smoothly transition through it even when hit with multiple attacks.
  • When ‘Zieque would be hit by his lightning bolt while currently injured, his animator would get locked up.  This has been fixed to behave as intended.
  • Deleting the figurine data from the system data section of the option menu did not delete the last row of figurines.  This has been updated to clear out all figurine data.
  • Zanipher does not challenge player after player’s first win and now waits until the intended number of freeplay matches to be unlocked
  • Tutorial Helper images did not display correctly when brought down and have been adjusted to display correctly
  • Character unlocks were reset upon opening the game.  Correct to properly read the unlock data and not override the afterwards results.

Balancing Updates

  • Hina’s fire breath has had hit stop removed and reducing the armor damage per individual speck of her fire breath.

Single Player mode updates

  • Added more characters to be displayed during the first scene of multiple arcade routes.

General gameplay updates

  • Should a character accidentally get stuck in the middle space between floors on the castle stage (Battlefield form) they will now get pushed out of the space between floors.

Bug Updates

  • Fixed a bug Psyren’s Talk To The Hand was not displaying when used by a specific player slot and is now displaying correctly.

Balancing Updates

  • Nearly every source of damage or impact (fighter, projectile, shikigami summon, helper, item, and scenery) has had an update on the hit stop and injury stun values.  Most values were aimed to be as unnoticeable as possible while providing enough hit stop value to provide overlapping attacks to ensure only the strongest value is applied.
  • Updated Miroi’s Holy Wings movement process to better detect running into objects.
  • Miroi’s Holy Wings have reduced their knockback force slightly.
  • Nekuen’s Deluge has a longer start-up period and 1 less wave is created but each wave has a slightly longer active lifespan.
  • Neon’s Fire Shield was discovered to be acting as a water-type elemental attack and has been updated to be a fire-elemental attack.
  • Zanipher’s Dragon Somersault moves slightly slower while wielding a katana and slightly faster while bare-handed.

Single Player mode updates

  • Tutorial helper screen now contains short 4-frame animations for each attack to help the player visualize the attack being described
  • Expanded the tutorial helper screen to explain Miroi’s Endurance ability so that players can better understand and utilize it to the fullest.
  • For the arcade cutscenes, added the background for Princess Taupe’s Meeting chamber for multiple prelude scenes.
  • Updated the layout of the glyphs for the arcade cut-scene to minimize overlap for the scene play section of the

General gameplay updates

  • The character icon in the UI when fighters are team-less has been updated from a grayscale color to a golden palette.

Bug Updates

  • Fixed a bug where Selphieroth summoning a shikigami can rarely lock up the game
  • Fixed a bug that triggers items to spawn as a result of unpausing gameplay in situations where item settings or stage settings have item spawning turned off.

Balancing Updates

  • Reduced the stun frames of Miroi’s Swift Smite attack slightly while also slightly extending the recovery frames.

Single Player mode updates

  • Added a tutorial helper screen during single player character selection to give the player an understanding of the currently selected character’s gameplan and the purpose of each move in the character’s arsenal (images accompanying this will be coming in the next update).
  • Addressed an issue where the post-battle results of the arcade mode has the player’s total score slightly overlaps the helper glyph text on certain resolutions.
  • During the single player character selection, the player can change palette color after a character is selected but before beginning the run.
  • Modified the outline of the text during the Boss Rush mode dialogue to be a little easier to read for characters with darker texts.
  • Upon successfully clearing the arcade run, the player’s total run time is displayed.
  • Upon successfully clearing the survival run, the player’s total run time is displayed.

General gameplay updates

  • CPU players interact with items more frequently (instead of the previous rarely using them ever)
  • The roof of the lead caravan of the stage Nekuen’s Caravan (both battlefield and arena versions) has been updated to have a semi-transparent visibility.  This allows for smaller characters, such as Neon, and lower attacks, such as Selphieroth’s Janken, to be more visible.
  • The spawn positions on the top of the towers on the Battlefield version of Miroi’s Castle led to characters losing a life as soon as the battle begins.  They have been removed.

Bug Updates

  • CPU players could create a bug when deciding how important an item’s value is to them at the moment.  This bug has been fixed.
  • Drake’s Vortex and Boss Drake’s Vortex created issues when paused while the vortex is out.  These issues have been fixed.
  • Drake’s Miasma created some issues with bad timing while pausing.  These issues have been fixed.
  • Hina using her dash ability over the alchemic combination Mercury in the battlefield version of Drake’s Temple created a bug.  This has been fixed.
  • Pausing while the Bee Bombs from the Beezooka item resulted in the Bee Bombs exploding after escaping the pause status.  This bug has been fixed.
  • Pausing while Miroi performs the Holy Wings attack during the early or late portions of the attack results in a bug.  This bug has been fixed.
  • Crispy B.’s Bunny Goes Boom would explode when moving over items that have not yet been activated.  This bug has been fixed.
  • Pausing while one of Selphieroth’s shikigami is in the process of returning to its owner resulted in a bug.  This bug has been fixed.

Balancing Updates

  • Mr. Bishounen’s Bishounen Taunt now resets the energy breather status on all victims when the taunt is completed.   This slows down energy recover of idle fighters, instead of immediately filling right back up.
  • The length of time the burn status from Mr. Bishounen’s Bishounen Taunt has been increased.

Single Player mode updates

  • Going through the arcade and reaching bonus challenge while using player 3 or 4 results in getting locked up before the battle with the secret opponent begins.  This bug has been fixed.
  • The final battle of the arcade mode felt unusually easy.  Data has been updated to give a more proper challenge.
  • Glyphs during the various subscenes of the arcade mode defaulted to displaying player 1’s keys instead of the active player.  This bug has been fixed.
  • Neon’s midboss opponent was assigned to face Drake.  This has been updated to a more appropriate target until the true target is available.
  • Crispy B.’s dialogue for the arcade mode cutscenes have been updated.

  • Updated various character data and stage data files to improve gameplay loading times, reduce memory usage and reduce file sizes.

Bug Updates

  • Multiple various bug fixes addressing a variety of unusual behavior with projectiles while the game is paused.  They should now hold a paused status until one exits the pause status.  This also applies to projectiles created by items.
  • Various bugs addressing certain pieces of stages continuing to function during a paused state have been addressed.  They should now hold a paused status until one exits the pause status.

Single Player mode updates

  • Outline provided around text to help the darker colors pop out more and increase their legibility.

  • All 8 fighters of the base roster are available.
  • There are 6 additional fighters that can be unlocked through various means of gameplay that will challenge the player and become unlocked if beaten.
  • 6 stages are available now, each with an arena mode and battlefield mode to let players play with the preference that they desire.
  • Arcade mode with individual stories for each fighter
  • Survival mode for the players who want a tough challenge
  • Boss Rush has 2 different bosses available (you must beat the first one to unlock the second one)
  • 6 different game modes available for freeplay (do note you need a second player to fight against to start free play battles.  You can turn a second participant into AI with the status bar above the character selection.  Team modes and Bounty require a minimum of 3 participants)
  • 22 different items to use in battle
  • 11 different helpers that can be summoned through the Helper’s Horn item that each bring unique effects to battle and represent some great content creators.
