During the school year, a gorgeous, shy young woman transfers into Viivi’s class. Her name is Hailey and she transferred schools as a result of being severely bullied at her last school. Hailey is seated next to Viivi on her first day and has no trouble befriending Viivi. Out of politeness, Viivi spends time with Hailey during their lunch breaks. Unexpectedly during a routine lunch, Hailey opens up to Viivi about her previous school and the bullying problems that Hailey has endured. Viivi feels a similarity between herself and Hailey which brings forth the bold action of opening up in return.

As their bonds deepen and their link intertwines, Viivi introduces Hailey to her twin, Farryl. Hailey can’t resist the urge to try forcing Farryl’s nose out of his books during lunch to instead spend time with Viivi and herself. Hailey effortlessly reveals her positive and supportive personality. Albeit soft spoken, Hailey reveals her hidden, truly caring personality.

Over the months attention has been arisen towards Viivi and Hailey having become very good friends. Hailey has made several other friends but is still most commonly noticed around Viivi. A girl who particularly enjoys picking fights with Viivi decides to target Hailey as a potential ‘friend’. Hailey, who is unaware of how this stranger treats Viivi, becomes friendly with the bully.

The bully begins to subtly take more and more of Hailey’s time from Viivi through seemingly innocent occasions, such as having Hailey over for dinner or going shopping after school. The bully gives Hailey make-up advice and will do things to pamper her new playmate. She especially enjoys preying on Hailey’s low self-confidence to make Hailey feel beautiful. Hailey starts spending more time with the bully and her posse during lunch breaks. With Hailey no longer asking Farryl to come eat with her and Viivi, he slips back into his old habit of reading for the full duration of the break while Viivi returns to her solitary self.
