Elemensional Rift leaps into SFGE 2024

Elemensional Rift has made a strong return to SFGE once again. With the return to SFGE, there also comes the introduction of a return to a crowd experienced with Elemensional Rift. It also brings the introduction of a new boss that is playable for the Boss Rush mode. With plenty of new content since the last showing, there was a greater presence than ever before.

Unlike other years where many flocked to the freeplay sessions to check out the game, this year’s SFGE crowd was extremely eager to take on the survival mode. This has been the first time one of the other modes has surpassed the number of freeplay sessions. Many came determined to conquer the challenge. However, in the end, only two were even able to overcome the mid-boss of the survival run and their run shortly ended after that.

Also, with a strong turn out, we could not resist the call to having a tournament. From early on, it looked like Crispy B. was going to be the one to be primed to make a strong presence with two Crispy B. users in the semi-finals. In the end, both Crispy B. users’ journeys stopped in the semi-finals with a face-off of Selphieroth versus Neon. It was a close battle and went to the final round. During the last few moments, both were in high damage and everyone’s tensions was focused on who would win. Selphieroth shifted to her Nimble Dear mode and was going for big swings while Neon was carefully trying to maneuver around Selphieroth’s swarm of attacks trying to get his final big blow in. Selphieroth made a gamble with a big swing as Neon was dashing in. Spectators all held their breath to see Selphieroth’s reach brought her victory over Neon dash this time.

After the results of the tournament, the excitement at the Elemensional Rift cooled down. Several came to squeeze in extra survival play sessions and freeplay sessions. At the end of SFGE, some very interesting results came up. According to the data, Neon and Crispy B. were in a close race for top usage, with Neon squeaking the lead in usage by a single play session. Kaizen was next in usage, closely followed by Selphieroth. The remaining characters were all close to the same amount of usage, with Mr. Bishounen surprisingly leading the pack of the remainders and putting him up at fifth for usage.
